The Griffith Dragons are set to re-enter the playing field tonight against UQ Hounds, after a week break last week.
The Dragons will travel to UQ for an away fixture which kicks off at 7:30pm.
The Dragons are currently undefeated, with a draw in their first fixture followed up by a win last week.
In their last game the Dragons were victorious 28-20 against QUT Trouts, in a fixture that was tight until the very end.
The Dragons started on the back foot, but some great defence was able to keep them in the game.
This culminated in a Dragons try in the 11th minute, which was quickly followed up by a QUT try, leaving the score at 4-4 after 15 minutes.
After some back and forth, the Dragons went in again in the 20th minute from a wonderful Jessie Osborne pass at dummy-half, taking the score to 10-4.
However, QUT were able to hit back and quickly level the scores again.
Not to be outdone, the Dragons has one more flashy try in them before half time: this time executing a length of the field try from a short side play, which gave them a 16-10 lead going into the break.
Jessie Osborne continued his great game with a try in the first minute of the second half – a brilliant solo effort taking the Dragons to a 20-10 lead.
The game turned into a bit of a grind for the next fifteen minutes, with both sides going set for set.
The Trouts then gave the Dragons an almighty scare, scoring two quick tries to level the scores at 20-20 with about 15 minutes left.
Soon after that, the Dragons scored a penalty goal off an incorrect QUT dropout to take a 22-20 lead.
The final 10 minutes were tense, with the game firmly in the balance.
However, the Dragons were able to put the win to bed with a try on the last play of the game, taking a 28-20 win.
Griffith University Rugby League 9s, which featured heavily with Dragons players, were also successful at the Intervarsity Sport Bowl over the weekend, winning the competition.
The Dragons will be looking to continue this form over the past fortnight with a victory tonight.
