The Griffith Government and International Relations society kicked off 2024 with a meet and greet at the Unibar on March 15!
The night began with free drinks, (I highly recommend the alcoholic ginger beer with lime), food and mingling with current members and first years. Those new founded friendships were put to the test with games of Jenga, Uno and Spoons. I think it’s safe to say that everyone is still on good terms, but the real test of friendship was arguing about Uno rules. For the first time in human history, I participated in a game where all players agreed that stacking draw two’s and draw four’s are allowed. Not to be controversial or anything, but this is the correct way to play.
Special shout out to The Griffith Journal’s very own secretary – Sebastian, who won a $50 gift card in an intense Kahoot game. The questions were all about politics of course! Did you know Saddam Hussein wrote romance novels during his rule?
We also learned about the events that will be happening over the year. Our very first event will be a debating event which will take place on 15 April. Attend for discussions on Palestine and the US election! Study groups will be hosted throughout the year where all Government and International Relations can support each other academically and emotionally. The main event of the year will be the networking gala, which will be bigger and better than previous years with other universities getting involved as well. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the executives
